Urban Transit (Route 420) Mercedes-Benz O305 Mark IV

This 1:76 scale bus model depicts Mercedes-Benz O305 Mark IV no. 3008 on Route 4220 to Ashfield Station. 355 Mark IV buses were delivered to Sydney and Newcastle between 1983 and 1987. 3008 was built in 1987 and operated in Sydney for 24 years.

3008 was originally delivered in Urban Transit Authority livery and later changed to the State Transit Authority scheme. This model depicts the bus in the former livery. Route 420 commenced in 1948 replacing the tramway between Mortlake and Ashfield Station. Formerly operated out of the now-closed Enfield Depot, Route 420 was renumbered 464 in 1988 and continues to generally follow the tramway via Cabarita Junction, Concord, Burwood, and Enfield.
