This 1:76 scale model depicts unit 1224, the last delivery in 1973 of the 224 Public Transport Commission Leyland Atlantean double deck two axle buses.

They were designed for one-man (driver only). The chassis were built in England by British Leyland, and all were bodied locally by Pressed Metal Corporation of Revesby. A Leyland 680 6-cylinder diesel engine developing 150 B.H.P. at 2000 RPM was mounted transversely across the rear.
