This 1:76 scale model depicts one of the 14 CAF Urbos 3 LRV’s operated by Canberra Metro Operations (CMET) for Transport Canberra.
The Canberra light rail network, also known as Canberra Metro, is a light rail system serving the city of Canberra, Australia.
The initial 12-kilometre line links the northern town centre of Gungahlin to the city centre (Civic) and has 13 stops. Services commenced on 20 April 2019.
CAF (Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles) built 14 Urbos 3 trams in Spain to operate the system. The trams are 32.96m long and consist of five modules. There are four doors on each side of the vehicle, two single leaf and two double-leaf doors.
The first tram was delivered in December 2017. The state-of-the-art depot is located in Mitchell.

Hand-crafted using over 600 intricately detailed parts.
Each individually designed, cast or fabricated part is hand-assembled using tweezers, glue-filled syringes, and a steady hand.
Limited production for lasting value.
Only 20 models of the CAF Urbos 3 have been made. OZTRAM models are designed with the model collector in mind, and manufactured in limited quantitites to enhance long-term value.

ABOUT THE MODEL
This CAF Urbos 3 LRV model is a museum grade replica. Like all OZBUS/OZTRAM models, every detail is modeled to perfection and with razor sharp precision. The replica features the livery and decals of the era including layout configuration and graphics, leaving no detail overlooked. The model comes in a plastic display box with an outer cardboard box with details about the model. The stainless steel etched plate features a mini version of the LRV, the CMET logo and limited edition model number. This replica is a treasure to be displayed and admired and is in no way a toy.

This is not a toy and not suitable for children under the age of 14. This highly detailed scale model contains small, intricate pieces that may present a choking hazard.
ABOUT THE SAFETY LIVERY
In 2019 Gungahlin College students created their own designs to promote the message of safety around the light rail. The project was a joint initiative of the ACT Government, Canberra Metro Operations and Gungahlin College with technical support from Transit Graphics. The winner of the design competition now has their design featured on two LRV’s operating frequently on the service.
